About

This is a Joel Pettigrew blog…  a potentially successful attempt at blogging after many many failed blogs in previous years.  Joel currently works at MIT, as the Program Coordinator in the Student Activities Office.  His responsibilities include working with Class Councils, The Events Committee (which plans major events like Fall Festival and Spring Weekend), cross-institution events like HallowMIT, as well as representing SAO in events review and events advisement committees, meetings, and work with student organizations.  His interests include diversity and social justice work, leadership and identity development, social media and digital identity development, and graphic design/marketing.

He went to Ohio State for his grad program in Higher Ed and Student Affairs, and went to Texas A&M where he learned about history, in particular all the dumb things humans have done in the past and love to repeat over and over in the present.

He hearts soccer and most sports.  Also, he hates talking in the third person, so he has no idea what is going on in this post.

He obsesses over polar bears and coffee, so he named his potentially successful blog after those two things.

Obviously, all posts on this blog are my own, and do not in any way represent MIT, or any other organizations I am associated with through indirect or very direct ways.  I will try not to pull any punches and always be honest since all views are my own on here.
